Show Up Early - Something Good Is Bound to Happen

There’s a quiet kind of power in being early. In a world where most people arrive just in time (or even late)…being the first one there sets you apart. It’s not just about punctuality; it’s about positioning yourself for opportunities that others might miss.
Some of the most valuable experiences I’ve had in professional baseball didn’t happen during games or big events - they happened in those still, early moments before the noise kicked in. When I was a young batboy, I’d often arrive at the stadium before the players. I’d walk a few laps around the clubhouse, take in the peacefulness of the empty field, and sometimes overhear conversations that most people never get to hear - coaches discussing player decisions, trades, or roster moves. Those unfiltered, behind-the-scenes moments taught me lessons I could never get from a textbook.
There’s something special about settling into an environment before the chaos begins. It allows you to think more clearly, observe more deeply, and connect more authentically. Whether it's greeting someone with a genuine conversation, preparing your tools before the day begins, or simply absorbing the atmosphere - you give yourself an edge when you’re not rushing.
Showing up early sends a message: you care, you’re prepared, and you take pride in what you do. It reflects discipline, initiative, and leadership. And often, the people who are early are the ones who get the most out of the experience - not just because they’re there first, but because they’re fully present when it matters most.
So if you want to stand out, grow, and catch those “lucky breaks” that seem to come out of nowhere - start by showing up early. You never know what good might be waiting for you.
Weak people do what everyone else is doing.
